Pure, precise and beautifully poised, our Blanc de Blancs 2021 showcases the elegance of Chardonnay from Central Otago. Five years resting on its lees have added layers of texture and complexity while preserving the wine’s vibrant freshness. The nose is lifted and enticing, with lemon curd, orchard fruit and delicate floral notes, followed by hints of toasted brioche and almond. On the palate, bright citrus and green apple meet a creamy, finely textured mid-palate, balanced by lively acidity and a subtle mineral edge. The mousse is fine and persistent, bringing energy and length to a beautifully focused finish. A sophisticated Méthode Traditionnelle with both freshness and depth, made entirely by hand here at Quartz Reef.

Persistent mousse. Soaring floral, white pepper and chalk aromas. Incredible tension and youthfulness, taut and crystalline in texture with high acidity yet no tartness. Citrus and floral flavours are laced with oyster-shell minerality, building towards a long, laser-like finish. •  A warm spring got the vines off to a strong start, with flowering beginning in mid-November. A cold front in late November reduced frost risk, while warm, dry conditions through summer allowed the Chardonnay to ripen beautifully. Veraison arrived at the end of January, with harvest beginning in March. The long, dry season delivered beautifully ripe, concentrated fruit with excellent natural acidity and balance.

• The grapes for the Vintage 2021 Blanc de Blancs were hand-picked in ideal condition on the March 11, 2021. Bottled November 20, this exceptional wine was aged for 5 years on lees then riddled and disgorged by hand during Spring 2026 on-site at Quartz Reef.A refined blend of 93% Chardonnay and 7% Pinot Noir, showcasing purity, precision and the hallmark elegance of Quartz Reef sparkling.
