Recent months have brought several honours that mean a great deal to everyone at Quartz Reef.
Founder and winemaker Rudi Bauer has been named The Real Review Vigneron of the Year New Zealand 2026, while Quartz Reef was ranked among The Real Review’s Top 5 Wineries of New Zealand 2026.
This was followed by an exceptional showing at the 2026 Aotearoa New Zealand Organic Wine Awards, where Quartz Reef received:

Together, these honours recognise the work taking place across Quartz Reef—from the long-term care of our biodynamic Bendigo vineyard to the patience and attention behind every wine we make.
They also reflect Rudi’s early belief in Bendigo and the commitment of a team that continues to build on what was planted here in 1998.
We are immensely proud of the recognition, but even more proud of what sits behind it: a healthy vineyard, wines that feel true to where they come from and a team that cares deeply about getting the details right.
