Pinot Rosé 2024

Bright, clear and fresh bouquet of redcurrant and cranberry with hints of honey and spice. Round, lush and savoury on the palate, with delicate fruit expression and whispers of lime jelly and golden kiwi. Delicate and refreshing, the perfect accompaniment to Spring into Summer!

  • The 23/24 growing season started with some heavy spring rains, before settling down into a drier season than the previous three. Budburst appeared on September 25 and we moved seamlessly into the growing season. Other than some major wind events in early October, the vines progressed favourably and we finished our first round of shoot thinning by October 25. Mother Nature stepped in with a significant frost event on October 27 setting us back ,however we did see a very good flowering and fruit set this year. The frost surely took its toll on our Pinot Noir volume and we will make less this year. Rest assured the quality is outstanding.
  • Hand-picked in ideal condition and ripeness on March 21, 2024 from a rather steep slope. Fully destemmed, with approximately 4 hours skin contact. Only free run juice used, indigenous yeast ferment in stainless steel tank. The winemaking was very much in keeping with the traditional practices of the Old World. The winemaker, Rudi Bauer, has combined these techniques, and his own personal understanding, to create this wine.
