Central Otago Comes to Australia: Quartz Reef Wines at PURE POURS 2026

Australia, we’re coming your way. 

This October, Central Otago is crossing the ditch for PURE POURS: Central Otago NZ, and Quartz Reef Wines is excited to be part of it.

Across three days and three cities, more than 20 Central Otago wineries will come together to pour their wines, share stories and give Australian wine lovers the chance to discover the region in one place.

And Lianne will be there representing Quartz Reef Wines, so if you’re in Australia, come along, say hello and taste a little piece of Bendigo.

Sydney | 17 October

We kick things off in Sydney on Saturday 17 October, taking over The Wine Bar and Panorama Bar at The International in Martin Place.

From 1–4pm, guests can wander through the tasting, meet the producers and explore more than 20 Central Otago wineries and more than 100 wines.

Quartz Reef will be there pouring alongside some of the region’s leading producers.

Melbourne | 19 October

Next stop is Melbourne.

On Monday 19 October, PURE POURS heads to Victoria by Farmer’s Daughters in the heart of Melbourne at 2 Swanston Street.

It’s another chance to taste your way through Central Otago, from aromatic whites and Chardonnay to méthode traditionnelle sparkling and the Pinot Noirs that have helped put Central Otago on the world wine map.

Lianne will be there to pour Quartz Reef wines and chat all things Central Otago, Bendigo and biodynamics.

Brisbane | 20 October

Then it’s north to Brisbane.

On Tuesday 20 October, PURE POURS arrives at The Lodge on James Street in Fortitude Valley for an evening tasting from 6–9pm.

Three cities. More than 20 wineries. A whole lot of Central Otago wine.

A little bit of Central Otago, all the way to Australia

Central Otago is a pretty special place to grow grapes.

High country, big temperature swings, dry summers, cold winters and dramatic landscapes all play a part in shaping the wines.

At Quartz Reef, our vineyards in Bendigo are certified organic and biodynamic, and our wines are made with a strong sense of place.

We’re especially excited to share our méthode traditionnelle sparkling wines with Australian wine lovers, alongside our Central Otago Pinot Noir and other wines from the vineyard.

PURE POURS is about much more than tasting wine. It’s about meeting the people behind the bottles, hearing the stories, comparing different expressions of Central Otago and getting a feel for what makes this little corner of New Zealand so unique.

And this year, Lianne will be there to tell the Quartz Reef story in person.
