Ripe, The Wānaka Wine and Food Festival, is a celebration of the best of what the Central Otago region has to offer.​   

Ripe is the brainchild of Wānaka resident Nathan White, borne out of what he saw of festivals whilst living and working among the vineyards of Australia. Coming home, Nathan was surprised to see there was no festival that truly showcased the Central Otago region – producer of some of the best wines and quality food in the world. Like any good Kiwi,  Nathan rolled his sleeves up and started making a plan.  

From crisp Sauvignon  Blancs  and Chardonnays to earthy Pinot  Noirs,  the Central Otago region is a unique land of extreme climates  producing internationally acclaimed vintages. ​ Ripe is a passionate demonstration of that abundance, quality and vibrancy. With more than  30 vineyards and food producers in attendance,  festival-goers  will be treated to a showcase of the region’s best.   

Ripe is about community and coming together in celebration.  It  is about sharing that delight with an appreciative audience supported by great music and exciting chefs  showcasing  their skills and inspiring everyone.  

Above all, Ripe is about a shared passion and energy for the best wine and food backed by a  deep respect, appreciation and knowledge​. The venue is spectacular, set  at Corbridge Woolshed with 325 hectares  of rolling fields and a backdrop of  Wānaka  mountains – it is pure Central Otago: vibrancy, colour and stunningly beautiful.
